I love to travel, and I have a higher-than-average tolerance for all that brings. I mean, after the Egyptian rail system and Kosovar gas station/unmarked bus station, it takes a lot to surprise me.
Still, the grey speckled walls can drive even the most tolerant to extremes. And adapting to what travel means from our rural abode is proving to be a bit of a challenge.
Step one: 1.25 hour drive
Step two: 2 hour bus
Step three: Plane (various duration, today: 1.5hours)
Step four: Light rail/T/bus (rarely taxi)
Step five: ENJOY!
Granted, it’s all incredibly worth it. DC 2013!
